Matthew has a broad range of experience in property law matters including in ordinary house conveyancing and larger transactions involving commercial or farm properties. He has experience with stamp duty and most other taxation issues which can arise in property transactions. He drafts and reviews leases and assists landlords in pursuing tenants who have defaulted under a lease. He drafts and reviews mortgages and other security documents.

He has some experience in planning matters, drafting of property related interests such as easements, owners Corporation rules, section 173 agreements, restrictive covenants (and their removal), compulsory acquisition and adverse possession. He reviews building contracts and has acted for both builders and customers in relation to building disputes.

He advises on contract disputes, building disputes, issues arising under the Sale of Land Act, contamination issues and provides solicitor's certificates for people borrowing money or guaranteeing the borrowing of money.

His experience in commercial law has given him a sound understanding of equitable and property law related principles and he is therefore able to handle difficult conveyances when they arise.
